Export & Save

Save figures, data, or the full project locally. Images are useful for papers, slides, and reports; project files restore the current workspace next time.

01

Export Images

Use image export for papers, slides, reports, and later layout work. Choose a format first, then select resolution or vector output when needed.

  1. Choose an image format
  2. Set resolution for PNG / JPG / JPEG
  3. Save locally

PNG / JPG / JPEG resolution

PNG, JPG, and JPEG can use Original, High, or Ultra resolution.

Original 1xHigh 2xUltra 4x

Vector and slides

SVG and PDF are best for publication layout, scaling, and later editing; PPTX is useful for presentation decks.

Data formats

CSVGeneral table format for Excel, Python, and most data tools.

TXTPlain text format for simple exchange and records.

XYUseful for X-Y style data.

02

Export Data

Save the current data table as a standard data file for later processing, sharing, or archiving.

  1. Choose data export
  2. Choose file format
  3. Save locally
03

Save Project

A project file is not a single image. It stores the full SmartPlot workspace so you can reopen and continue editing later.

  1. Click the Save button in the top-right corner
  2. Choose a location the first time and create a project file
  3. Save updates after later changes

Project format

.splot

.splot is the full workspace, not a single image.

Project includes

  • Data tables
  • Figures and layers
  • Styles and axes
  • Legends, annotations, and layout
  • Analysis results and current state

Save logic

  • First Save: save as a SmartPlot project
  • Saved project with new changes: save updates
  • No new changes: Save button is disabled
  • Closing with unsaved work: show a save reminder

The first Save stores a SmartPlot project file. After later changes, the Save button becomes available again.
